Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in March this year its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 837,120 metric tons, up 12.1 percent compared to February, accounting for 65 percent of domestic sales. In the first quarter of the current year, the company sold 2.37 million mt of carbon steel, accounting for 64 percent of domestic sales.
In March, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 31.5 billion ($1.04 billion), up 10.4 percent month on month. In the first three months, the operating revenues of the company totaled NTD 92.4 billion ($3.06 billion). In March, the company registered earnings before tax of NTD 2.06 billion ($68.2 million), increasing by 37.3 percent compared to February.
