Research in Motion's(RIM's)developer toolkit for BlackBerry 10 has gone gold,the Canadian firm has announced,as leaked images of its upcoming BlackBerry-L handset were leaked on the internet.
The BlackBerry 10 gold build features all of the final tools,components,and APIs developers will need to build applications for the smartphone,which BlackBerry claims is the answer to BYOD.
"We have been actively engaged with developers from around the world for many months and as we near the final weeks toward the launch of BlackBerry 10,the growing dedication and commitment we see from our developer community is truly outstanding,"said Alec Saunders,vice president,developer relations and ecosystems at RIM.
"The focus we have had on building a true developer ecosystem and community is clearly working,"he added.
Meanwhile,high-resolution photos supposedly of the upcoming BlackBerry-L have been published on Vietnamese technology news website Tinhte.
The phone is fully touchscreen,which would be a first for RIM,and sports curved edges similar to an iPhone.The photos also show slots for a microSIM and microSD card and a flash camera.
BlackBerry 10's official launch is on 30 January.Investors seem to like the new RIM smartphones,with shares in the firm gaining ground after previously tanking.
