an Innovative Tool Will Be Presented During The Fourth Bluesign Conference

An innovative tool developed by Switzerland based Bluesign Technologies will be presented during the fourth Bluesign conference which will run from July 13-14, 2015 in St Gallen, Switzerland.

“This tool is a clear answer to the demand for better resource utilisation through optimised process management in textile production, including efficient chemical management,” Bluesign said in a press release.

“This is a collaborative effort of a responsible industry and will support the basic concerns and demands of NGO’s, brands and retailers,” it added.

According to the company, it is feasible to achieve nearly all effects in the textile area without any compromise in performance by selecting from around 5,600 chemicals in the ‘Bluesign Bluefinder’, a chemical data base of positive list substances.

“The new resource tool represents a next step to reach a significantly more sustainable product,” the company informed.

With this tool it is possible to work with chemical products of all Bluesign chemical system partners and allows the industry to optimise their processes regarding harmful substances and also resource consumption.

“This integrative step is a milestone in the history of textile processing and it will support the textile industry’s sustainability efforts to reduce the resource consumption dramatically,” Bluesign observed.

Additionally, Dr. Gunter Pauli, author and activist and David de Rothschild, an environmental storyteller will be delivering the keynote speeches at the Bluesign conference.

The conference unites experts and representatives of the textile, chemical, accessory and machine industry and interested persons.

Besides networking opportunities with experts, the conference offers valuable and new insights into the field of ‘Blue Economy’, ‘Blue Chemistry’ and ‘Blue Competence’.

The Bluesign system is a solution for a sustainable textile production and eliminates harmful substances right from the beginning of the manufacturing process and sets and controls standards for an environmentally friendly and safe production.

This not only ensures that the final textile product meets very stringent consumer safety requirements worldwide but also provides confidence to the consumer to acquire a sustainable product.

Bluesign Technologies AG was founded in 2000 and since then, the Bluesign system has been adopted by worldwide leading textile manufacturers.

Various significant key players of the chemical industry rely on the Bluesign system, while brands of the outdoor, sportswear and fashion industry rely on the extensive knowledge of Bluesign technologies.
