American automaker Ford Motor has announced its plans to start the production of its new 2015 Ford F-150 pickup trucks at Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan, US.
The announcement was made at the 10th anniversary celebrations of the plant, which has produced over 2.6 million F-150 trucks since it commenced production in May 2004.
Under the plan, Ford will also renovate the Dearborn Truck Plant by summer 2014 in order to support the production new F-150 vehicles.
Ford North America manufacturing vice president Bruce Hettle said Dearborn Truck Plant has set world-class standards for efficiency and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.
"The hardworking men and women of Dearborn Truck are excited to bring this Built Ford Tough truck to our customers," Hettle added.
Dearborn Truck plant has about 350 robots between its body and paint shops and final assembly area and is capable of building nine models on three vehicle platforms.
The new 2015 Ford F-150 pickup trucks will be available in different models equipped with the new 2.7L EcoBoost engine, a 3.5L EcoBoost engine, a new normally aspirated 3.5L V6 engine and the improved 5L V8 powertrain.
