German dairy firm Deutsches Milchkontor (DMK) has secured the regulatory approval to complete its acquisition of private-label ice cream manufacturer, Roseneis.
The German federal competition authority - Bundeskartellamt has agreed the takeover of Roseneis by DMK's ice cream business DMK Eis.
In November 2012, DMK entered into the agreement to acquire a majority stake in Roseneis.
Following the acquisition, both the firms will initially continue to operate independently. DMK Eis and Roseneis will merge the businesses at a later date.
Roseneis is a manufacturer of private-label ice cream products including cones, waffles, and tubs from its four production facilities in Germany - one in Haaren; one in Nuremberg and two in Prenzlau. Currently, Roseneis exports its products to 22 European countries including the UK, France, and Italy, as well as to the US, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, and the UAE.
