Volkswagen Has Released a New in-Car System to Offer Convenience and Diagnostics Features

German carmaker Volkswagen Group has launched a new in-car system, VW Car-Net, which claimed to offer convenience and diagnostics features along with the security.

The company will make the VW Car-Net available in the selected vehicles of 2014 model year Jetta, Passat, Tiguan, CC, Beetle, Beetle Convertible, and Eos models.

Volkswagen Connected Services general manager Frank Weith said Volkswagen Car-Net is a multifaceted connectivity system integrated into the company's cars.

"Not only does it offer our consumers an added sense of security with features like Automatic Crash Notification, but it also offers various convenience features for day-to-day use, such as Remote Vehicle Status and service appointment scheduling," Weith added.

Features of the new in-car system include automatic crash notification, roadside assistance, agent destination assist, stolen vehicle assistance, last parked location and service appointment scheduling.

The company will offer the VW Car-Net with all features and can be accessed in three ways including the in-car through the dedicated VW Car-Net buttons on the console, through the VW Car-Net Web Portal and through the VW Car-Net Mobile App on a customer's iPhone.
