UK automotive major Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will launch its custom-built Jaguar XJR Rapid Response Vehicle (RRV), capable of zooming from 0 to 60mph in just 4.4 seconds up to 174mph, as part of Bloodhound Project at Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Placed alongside recently launched F-TYPE R AWD RRV, the unveiling of the vehicle will be in line with the company's commitment to the Bloodhound SuperSonic Car (SSC) project as technical and innovation partner.
The Bloodhound Project has been dubbed as global engineering adventure, with an aim to notch up a 1000 mph World Land Speed record with a view to inspiring the next generation about science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The new additions, which flaunt a spacious cabin with five-litre V8 550PS supercharged petrol engine, to the Bloodhound's fleet are from the stable of Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations unit.
Jaguar Land Rover managing director - special operations John Edwards said: "These are specially developed cars for a very special purpose, showcasing SVO's ability to design and engineer bespoke vehicles to the highest possible standards.
"Equally importantly we're proud to be playing a part in another great British land speed record attempt."
