Germany Siemens Has Nailed Down a Contract with Qatar Steel

Reportedly, Germany Siemens has nailed down a contract with Qatar Steel to build high-voltage substation at Qatar’s industrial city in Mesaieed.

The new 220/66/33-kilovolt substation will replace the existing facility within 14 months and supply more reliable power to its complex.

In the background, Qatar Steel bought stakes worth US$3.1 billion in Siemens and launched US$5.7 billion aluminum plant in December 2009 and has foreign investments in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE currently.
