Samsung Has Become the World's Largest Semiconductor Users in 2012

The scale of global semiconductor sales in 2012 down 3% compared with 2011, to 297.6 billion dollars. Among them South Korea's Samsung Electronics purchases increased 28.9% year-on-year, reached 23.9 billion dollars to be the global sales champion. The US Apple's sales increased 13.6% compared with the previous year, ranked the second place with the purchases of 21.4 billion dollars. Although the US Hewlett-Packard ranked the third place, whose sales were 14 billion dollars, declined 12.7% compared with the last year.

Japan has two companies short-listed, they were SONY (7.9 billion dollars, an increase of 1.9%) , ranked the fifth, and the seventh Toshiba (6.5 billion dollars, declined 17.1% year-on-year.)

The sales of Chinese Lenovo were 7800 million, ranked the sixth, an increase of 0.3% compared with the last year.  Sales of LG and Cisco reached 6000 million (declined 6.7%) and 5400 million (declined 0.8%), ranked the eighth and ninth.

Nokia’s purchases were only 5000 million, who was in a disadvantaged situation in the smart phone market, reduced 42.6% from the fifth in 2011 to the tenth in 2012.
