Porsche's new US headquarters will feature a 2.6km test track and handling road course as part of an extensive customer experience centre.
Announced at a groundbreaking ceremony for the new headquarters,the 26.4-acre?Atlanta-based'One Porsche Drive'site will not only include the test track facility where current and potential customers can explore the capabilities of Porsche vehicles,but also corporate offices,a technical service and training centre,a conference centre and a museum.
Due to be completed in the second half of 2014,Porsche Cars North America president and CEO Detlev von Platen said the ceremony symbolised Porsche's strong ties to the East Coast city of Atlanta,"a city we have proudly called home since 1998".
"This world-class facility underscores our commitment to customers and dealers in the United States,which remains the single largest market for Porsche vehicles."
Industry journal Automotive News reports Porsche also intends to build a larger test track facility in Los Angeles to cater for its customers on the West Coast of the country.
