Alfa Laval, a Swedish provider of specialized products for heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling, has secured a SEK75m to supply a complete process line for a vegetable protein extraction plant.
As per the order booked in the Food Technology segment, the company will supply a processing line which comprises separation, filtration and thermal units.
The equipment will be used for refining sunflower seed into vegetable protein concentrate, sugar concentrate and fiber fraction.
Alfa Laval president and CEO Lars Renstrim said, "This order confirms the good growth and high activity we have seen in Russia.
"It also proves our strong position as a reliable supplier of products and solutions to the food industry."
The company opened its first office in St Petersburg in 1903. Last year, it recorded revenues of about SEK29.8bn (€3.5bn).
