Whole Foods, a US-based supermarket chain, is recalling pimiento cheese spread as it may contain eggs that is not mentioned on the label.
The product associated with the recall is 7oz pimiento cheese spread bearing UPC code 0 00000 23480 1 with a use by date of 29 July 2013. This recalled product was distributed across Kentucky, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Washington DC and New Jersey.
No illnesses have been reported associated with the recall.
Consumption of pimiento cheese spread may cause serious or life-threatening allergic reaction in people allergic or intolerant to eggs.
Consumers who have purchased the above mentioned product are advised to discard or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
