Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has unveiled two new MCV buses at the ongoing International Bus and Utility Vehicle Show, being held at Greater Noida in India.
The MCVs include the 45-seater front engine intercity AC coach that is powered by an 180hp engine and a 41-seater non ac staff bus, both of which will be used for intercity transportation and staff transportation.
Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles Business Unit executive director Ravi Pisharody said that the two buses on display are an effort to upgrade the market to a superior product quality in their respective sub-segments.
"These buses are specially designed for their intended application with an aim to provide a company built options," Pisharody added.
Body of both the buses has been built by the Tata Motors Marcopolo on the Tata LPO 1618 and LPO 1512 chassis.
Features of the 45-seater include hydrodynamic retarder, air suspension, overdrive gearbox and tubeless radial tyres, while the 41-seater comes with wide gangway, flat floor inside saloon and separate driver partition.
