Ford Recalls 205, 000 Vehicles Due to Corrosion Under The Reinforcement Brackets

Ford has announced a safety recall of around 205,000 vehicles due to corrosion under the reinforcement brackets where the fuel tank is mounted.

The recall would affect 2007-2008 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles and the issue can cause fuel leak, fuel odor and if the fuel leak is caused in presence of flame, then it could result in fire.

The company announced that it is not aware about any injury or death related to the issue.

The affected Lincoln MKX, Ford Edge were manufactured was built at the company's Oakville Assembly plant between June 15, 2006 to Sept. 22, 2008.

Ford said that it is aware about 186,024 vehicles affected with the issue in the US and around 18,424 vehicles in Canada.

The company has informed the Dealers who will inspect the fuel tank and repair it at no cost to the customer.
