Trade Resources Company News The Adhesives Are Approved for Direct Food Contact

The Adhesives Are Approved for Direct Food Contact

Global pressure sensitive labelstock supplier UPM Raflatac has unveiled two adhesive upgrades in a bid to continue advances in migration safeguards in line with the EU 10/2011 regulation.

According to the company, the regulation places tighter controls on the potential for substance migration from packaging components into food, and aims to enhance consumer safety further.

The new RP 36 FG and RP 36 ML adhesives can further reduce possibility of food contamination with their enhanced non-migration characteristics.

Classed as infant and baby safe, the adhesives are approved for direct food contact, including labeling carcasses and also indirect food contact.

Laminates of Foodgloss RP 36 FG and Foodgloss RP 36 ML have passed the Sensory Analysis for Indirect Transition of Flavour according to EN 1230-2. UV resistance gives a longer shelf life to the laminate and converted labels.
