Mondelez International has announced that it would invest $15m to open a new global research, development & quality (RDQ) facility in Bielany Wroclawskie, Poland.
The company has started the construction of the new site, which is expected to open in the first quarter 2017.
The facility will support new products and technologies for its recognised brands like Cadbury Dairy Milk, Milka, Barni and Oreo.
The site will house innovation labs, a new pilot plant and a space for collaboration to generate new ideas and experiment them.
Mondelez research, development and quality executive vice president Rob Hargrove said: "This $15m investment supports our growth strategy to offer innovative chocolate and biscuit products that meet the changing needs of consumers, while maintaining a competitive edge in the markets of tomorrow.
"Embedding one of our largest research hubs here clearly signals the importance of Poland and Europe within our global RDQ network."
Besides boosting the company's global chocolate and biscuit brands, the facility is expected host 250 scientists, engineers and other specialists, who will be recruited from all over the world, including Poland.
Currently, Mondelez employs 1,400 employees in the Wroclaw region and co-operates with local partners and suppliers.
Mondelez Poland and the Baltics managing director Zoltan Novak said: "Wroclaw is rapidly becoming the 'Silicon Valley' of Poland as well as an incredibly important and strategic location for our business.
"Given the vast number of locally renowned technical universities that educate top-notch professionals in the area, we are confident that this talent will help us to create a strong future for our global Power Brands and make the new center a successful hub for innovation."
In May, Mondelez announced that it was planning to introduce games similar to its "Twist, Lick, Dunk" mobile application which it had launched in 2012, to signal its shift from conventional advertising measures by creating its own content, Reuters reported.
