F&F at Tesco, one of the world’s largest multi-national retailers, in partnership with R-pac International, a leading global RFID, trim and packaging company, has successfully completed a smooth, rapid deployment of RFID technology throughout the clothing retail supply chain for F&F, a network of 525 stores in the United Kingdom.
The extensive deployment, executed under strict time constraints in order to meet delivery mandates, presented a textbook case study in organizational teamwork, with R-pac working closely with F&F to ensure flawless tagging and tag commissioning.
Each R-pac RFID tag can be monitored throughout the entire production and commissioning process to increase visibility and ensure quality and a timely schedule. Quality checks on R-pac RFID tags are executed and recorded at each step of the process: from chip level to final case packing and shipping, according to a press release.
Michael Teitelbaum, CEO at R-pac said, “The joint project included the development of customization of a web portal to guarantee data accuracy, as well as specialized equipment for label application. In addition, the sampling and supply chain for the required raw materials were concurrently completed. Once the ordering portal was completed, the F&F supplier community was trained via webinars and face-to-face meetings in key sourcing locations.”
Richard Collins, CEO F&F “The executive leadership from F&F and R-pac International were fully aligned on the resources needed from both organizations to successfully implement the RFID program within the constricted timeline. The implementation teams continued to meet key objectives and milestones collaboratively to ensure no disruption to the flow of RFID product at source and throughout the supply chain.”
F&F is an international fashion brand, which is exclusive to Tesco, and sold through Tesco’s retail and online formats through the UK and Europe.
In addition to innovative RFID solutions, R-pac is a leading global supplier of branded packaging and trims to retailers, designers and merchants.
