It is reported that Turkish Koc Celik planned to start its electric arc furnace by the end of April this year.
The company expected the monthly production capacity to 50,000 tons and to reach full capacity by the end of the first quarter in 2014.
Meanwhile, the company has planned to gradually increase the capacity utilization at the Payas-based EAF in order to meet the demand ta domestic market.
Besides, the EAF was acquired earlier this year from the company Cansan Metalurji which was worth about US$38.6 million.
In addition, the company has already begun scrap procurement for the facility bought earlier this year.
