Hebei Iron and Steel Group, established in 2008 with the merger of Tangsteel and Hansteel in Hebei province, produced 69.23 million tons of steel, down by 2.8% year on year.
In 2012, China has dominated the global steel production with 47% of shares, up by 3% to 717 million tons in 2012 from 2011.
Anshan Iran and Steel Group takes the second place in crude steel production with 45.32 million tons of output, falling 2% while Baosteel Group produced 42.70 million tonnes of crude steel, decreasing 1.5% as the third place.
The Chinese government has determined to take control of the 60% of total steel capacity of its top 10 steel mills by 2015.
