The new electric coupe is powered by GM's extended range electric vehicle (EREV) technology that combines pure electric drive and a 1.4L gasoline-powered electric generator, which collectively deliver a total output of 207hp and 400Nm torque.

The coupe's 16.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack powers the advanced electric drive unit, which will offer an estimated range of about 35miles of pure electric driving, while combined range offered by both battery pack and engine is estimated at approximately 300-miles (480km).

Production of the vehicle will be carried out at GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant that will offer four modes of driving, including Sport, Tour, Mountain and Hold to enhance driving experience for various driving styles and conditions.

Features of the new model include wide front and rear tracks, HiPer Strut front suspension, dual-pinion, rack-mounted electric power steering system, semi-independent rear compound-crank suspension, hydraulic ride bushings, electro-hydraulic regenerative brake system and standard chassis control systems.

The front-wheel-drive, two-door coupe offers a top speed of 100mph, while its Regen on Demand feature allows the driver to regenerate electricity by taking foot off the accelerator and pull back on either the left or right steering-wheel paddle.
