The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) has opened its sixth centre in Nelamangala, Sompura Industrial Area of Bengaluru in Karnataka state.
The center will house a laboratory to test packaging material and finished packages, fnbnews.com reported.
IIP, which aims to increase awareness about the packaging significance in the country, has centers in Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata at present.
All activities such as testing and quality certification, training and education, consultancy services on packaging standardization, formulation of packaging specification and cost reduction pertaining to packaging will be overlooked by the IIP.
The institute works for the growth and development of packaging globally and is associated with global bodies such as the World Packaging Organisation (WPO), Asian Packaging Federation (APF), and International Trade Centre (ITC), Geneva.
