BMW is planning to expand its model program by including MINI One First 5 door which will include a range of seven engine types for customers to choose from.
The MINI One First 5 door is powered by new engine which features MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology, and its 1.2l 3-cylinder spark ignition engine combines turbocharging with petrol direct injection and variable camshaft control on the exhaust and intake side.
The engine is capable of producing 75 hp and a maximum torque of 150 Nm, which would also facilitate the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 13.4 seconds.
The car will have fuel consumption of 5.2l per 100km with CO2 emission level of 121g per km.
BMW has developed a six-speed manual transmission for the car to provide optimized efficiency, and the integrated gear sensor is designed to provide harmonious and dynamic shifting.
According to BMW, the market launch of the new basic model will expand the MINI 5 door's engine portfolio to four petrol and three diesel engines with output range of 75 hp to 192 hp.
Apart from the extra door the wheelbase has been extended by 72mm when compared to MINI 3 door, and the luggage compartment can also be expanded up to 941l.
