British sports car manufacturer McLaren Automotive will unveil its 12C Spider sports car at the ongoing 37th Bologna Motor Show, being held between 05 and 09 December 2012, in Italy.
The mid-engine open-top sports car is powered by the upgraded 3.8L V8 twin-turbo engine which generates an output power of 625PS and the power will be transferred to rear wheels through a seven-speed SSG dual clutch transmission.
Aimed at accelerating 0-62mph in 3.1 seconds, the new Spider achieves a top speed of 204mph, while consuming 11.7L of fuel per 100km and emitting 279g of CO2 per km.
The sports car uses MonoCell, which is a carbon fibre monocoque chassis that reduces weight while offering improved strength, torsional rigidity, handling, ride comfort and performance.
The 12C comes with McLaren Airbrake, which is an 'active' rear wing that maximises its angle to enhance downforce, while improving stopping power and stability through edges.
