Chinese automobile manufacturer Great Wall Motors (GWM) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with power management company Eaton over new vehicle technologies.
As part of the deal, the companies will jointly work on technical fields such as engine valve mechanism, torque control products, supercharger, and fuel evaporation and emission control.
GWM chairman Wei Jianjun said the company's strategy is focusing on SUV and the products range from the mini SUV to large SUV.
"GWM hopes that Eaton will provide strong technical support and work with GWM in more technical fields through communication and exchange," Jianjun added.
Both the companies will work in fields including vehicle performance enhancement, vehicle safety, fuel economy, hydraulic and electric technologies in order to offer better products to customers in China.
Eaton Asia-Pacific president Curt Hutchins said the two sides have carried out effective cooperation in fields such as chassis and engine.
"After signing the agreement, the two sides will further deepen the discussion about technical exchange and cooperation," Hutchins said.
The two sides have reportedly started R & D cooperation in fields like ELSD, intake/exhaust valves and roller rocker.
Previously, GWM partnered with Eaton for MLD and manufactured it on Great Wall H3, Great Wall H5 and Wingle pickup vehicles.
