Pure Hothouse Foods is voluntarily recalling Freshly Cut Grillers because the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes,according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency(CFIA).
The following Pure Flavor brand Freshly Cut Grillers,sold in 14 oz/400 g trays with the use by dates of 11 August 2012 through 26 August 2012,are affected by this alert:Premium Medley,Asparagus Blend,Rustic Blend,and Steak Topper.
These products have been distributed in Ontario.There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may cause listeriosis,a foodborne illness.Listeriosis can cause high fever,severe headache,neck stiffness and nausea.Pregnant women,the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
The manufacturer,Pure Hothouse Foods,based in Leamington,Ontario,is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace,while the CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
