Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has deployed Privileged Account Security solution from CyberArk to optimize its password management, as part of its security infrastructure project in Hanover, Germany.
Computacenter, a partner of CyberArk, supports implementation of the system and its integration in the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles infrastructure.
The luxury carmaker has introduced the Privileged Identity & Privileged Session Management suite to manage non-personalized privileged user accounts automatically, ensure compliance with uniform password policies, and maintain a central, auditable password repository.
The new solution is currently in the first stage of deployment, which is integrated with the VW's servers running multiple operating systems including Windows, Unix and Linux.
Following this deployment, VW will implement the new solution on databases later this year. It will also be introduced to virtual systems, service accounts and manufacturing systems in the future.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles IT services department Juan Ramos Rincon said: "We can now offer IT managers an out-of-the-box solution that meets the full set of requirements, reducing their workload and giving them security in their actions."
