Publix Has Initiated The Recall Following a Notification From Its Supplier Maplehurst

US-based supermarket chain PUS-based supermarket chain Publix Super Markets is recalling 45 various cake products over Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Publix has initiated the recall following a notification from its supplier Maplehurst. The products subjected to the recall were distributed to Publix stores between 11 November 2012 through 15 November 2012.

Publix media and community relations director Maria Brous said that no illnesses have been reported associated with the 7" chocolate layer cake used to make the recalled desserts.

Consumers who have purchased the products must return the product to a nearby store for a full refund.

Consumption of products containing Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infection in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. is recalling 45 various cake products over Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
