UK-based foils and containers firm Nicholl Food Packaging (NFP) has had the Preactor Group's Advanced Packaging and Scheduling (APS) solutions rolled out at the French facility, while implementation is underway at the firm's German site.
The Preactor rollout ensures the UK, German and French facilities have access to the new Material Explorer to interrogate the entire supply chain for production delays or material shortages.
Preactor implementation was reported to be successful at Kudos Solutions, a partner firm, after which a decision was taken to roll it out elsewhere.
Kudos Solutions managing director Jeff Johnson said the UK implementation at NFP was the proof of concept about how Preactor's advanced production planning and scheduling technology could benefit a business with the unique challenges faced by the firm.
NFP is also an active part of the development program for the Preactor 400 GMPS (Graphical Master Planning Scheduling) project to be launched jointly by Preactor International and Kudos Solutions.
According to the firm, Preactor 400 GMPS offers high flexibility for demand and capacity planning, especially for larger companies in the food and FMCG sector that need accurate and timely responses to demand forecast fluctuations.
