Subaru Canada, Fuji Heavy Industries' (FHI) automobile manufacturing division, is set to launch its new 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid vehicle in Canada by the end of November 2013.
Manufactured in a zero-landfill plant in Gunma, Japan, the new 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid is based on the company's 2013 XV Crosstrek crossover.
Equipped with a gasoline-powered hybrid powertrain, for higher fuel efficiency, the new vehicle combines the gasoline model's Subaru symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive and chassis capability.
It features a 148HP 2.0l 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine and also integrates a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) that attaches to a 13.5HP electric motor within its symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive system.
Subaru has also re-engineered the chassis and suspension of the model. It also has the new automatic start/stop system that enables the engine to stop when the vehicle is at rest.
