Germany based color masterbatch producer Karl Finke has installed a new blow molding equipment for PET bottles to expand its technical center in Wuppertal, Germany.
The new blow-moulding system has been installed to speed up the process for PET dyeing.
Finke said in a statement: “PET has become the material of choice for high-end premium packagings. Well established in the food and drink segment, it seems to be on its way to outrank PE in the cosmetics market.”
The new equipment is designed to allow for faster conversion of color concepts into production stage coloring and additive systems for PET, the company said.
Karl Finke managing director Felix said: “Comprehensive advice and support for our customers from design stage to end product is very important to us.
“With PET becoming more and more important in the packaging market, the new molding system for PET bottles was the logical next step in expanding our technical center.”
Finke also operates several injection molding systems as well as film and sheet extruders.
The company said that the PE and PP bottles can be produced in mono processes as well as in co-extrusion processes.
Finke plans to showcase granulated masterbatches and pigment powders as well as liquid dyes and coloring pastes for almost any type of plastics application at the Fachpack 2016 event, which is scheduled to be held from 27 - 29 September in Nürnberg, Germany.
Karl Finke is a manufacturer of pigment preparations for the plastics’ processing industry in Europe.
The master batches, liquid paints, color pastes and pulverised pigment preparations are offered for use in cosmetics and foodstuff packaging, in injection-moulding applications, in technical components, in film- processing as well as in the automotive and furniture industries.
