Vw Passenger Cars Reports 4.3% Increase in September Sales

Volkswagen Passenger Cars has reported a 4.3% increase in its deliveries to 492,500 vehicles in September 2012, compared to 472,100 vehicles for the same period in 2011.

The company claims that deliveries of the division crossed four million units for the first time in the first three quarters of 2012.

From January to September, the company delivered 4.21 million vehicles to customers, up 10.6%, compared to 3.81 million units for the same period previous year.

In the Asia-Pacific region, the division grew deliveries by 16.4% from January to September to 1.68 million units, of which 1.52 million units went to China including Hong Kong.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars increased deliveries in the North America region by 26.1% to 456,500 units, while in South America, deliveries rose by 8.1% to 626,200 units.

For the first three quarters, the car division delivered more than 1.30 million units in the overall the European market which accounted for an increase of 0.2%.

In Central and Eastern Europe, deliveries rose by 32.1% to 199,800 vehicles, while in Russia deliveries increased 55.9% to 123,000 units.
