The buses, dubbed Scania OmniExpress 3.20 LE Euro 6, will replace older buses plying on the roads in the Ski area, situated in the southeastern region of Oslo.

The heavy vehicles, capable of being powered by compressed natural gas, CNG and biogas, are stated to result in lower emissions of greenhouse gases and lower decibels.

Nobina, stated to be the largest bus transport firm in the Nordic region, boasts a staff headcount of 7,000 with a fleet strength of 4,000 running across Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Scania, which claims to provide its customers cost-effective transport solutions and maximum uptime, has also got public transport organizations from Columbia and Indonesia availing of its buses that use gas as fuel. The Colombian city of Cartagena will press into action 147 Scania Euro 6 gas buses as part of its new transport system in South America.

Scania, which boasts a staff headcount of 42,000, finds its activities in around 100 countries. While research and development remained focused in Sweden, it has got its manufacturing plants in Europe and South America.
