British beef supplier Dovecote Park has selected thermoformed packaging provider Leeds Vacuum Formers (LVF) as the sole supplier of bespoke packaging, a move that will double the latter's output to nine million meat trays annually.
A 12-month contract to this effect was signed between Dovecote Park and LVF.
Prior to this contract, LVF had worked with Dovecote Park for three years as one of two suppliers of bespoke thermoformed meat trays.
LVF managing director Nigel Coates said: "We were eager to be awarded the contract, and were absolutely delighted to discover that many of the business strengths we pride ourselves on, for example, our flexibility, high levels of customer service and determination not just to win, but hold onto business, played major factors in us being named Dovecote's sole supplier."
LVF supplies wide range of products for Dovecote Park, which includes thermoformed trays for burgers, meatballs, diced beef and steaks.
According to the company, Dovecote Park's meat trays are produced using specialised, often bespoke tooling, which is used to form the plastic to the exact dimensions demanded by the client.
