UK-based packaging firm Sirane has introduced a new food packaging solution, the Si-bag, which can be used for steam-cooking in oven or microwave.
The new Si-bag can be used to cook the packed products in a conventional oven at about 200 degrees celsius, and also to store the packed products in a freezer for future use.
Made using a very high temperature resistant film, the Si-bag can seal the food products using a fold-over flap that makes the bag odor and leak-proof.
Sirane sales director Jeremy Haydn-Davies said Si-bag retains all the flavours and allows people to cook quickly and easily with fresh ingredients.
"And often, when people do cook this way, they find it is a way of cooking stunning food easily," Haydn-Davies said.
According to the company, Si-bag allows cooking and portion control without allowing the flavor to escape.
Additionally, the new cook-in bag packaging can be used as a retail counter bag and will also be available in retail packs to allow users to add their own ingredients.
