Tommy Hilfiger Arvind Fashion Private Limited (Tommy Hilfiger India), licensee of the Tommy Hilfiger brand in India, hosted an in-store event to celebrate the opening of Tommy Hilfiger childrenswear stores in the Palladium Mall and Breach Candy, both situated in the heart of Mumbai. Olympic medalist Mary Kom and her twin sons Rechungvar & Khupneivar attended the event to celebrate the opening of the new stores.
The store interiors are designed to reflect Tommy Hilfiger's iconic American roots and preppy heritage. Traditional wood paneling and Ithaca striped wallpaper in preppy blue tones feature throughout. Playful touches – such as vintage furniture and unique artwork – provide a youthful backdrop to the Classic American Cool spirit embodied by the brand.
"As a parent, I'm thrilled that Tommy Hilfiger has launched childrenswear stores here in Mumbai," said Mary Kom. "South Mumbai finally has international shopping destinations for children! The Fall/Winter collection looks youthful and vibrant with classic Tommy Hilfiger styles infused with the brand's preppy signature."
The Fall/Winter 2012 Tommy Hilfiger childrenswear collection, "Pint-Sized Preps," is inspired by the quintessential young-American prepster: He likes his letterman sweater paired with broken-in denim and prefers wearing his sporty rugby polo as an alternative to a sweater. She borrows a blazer from the boys, adds a ribbon trimmed tee and colorful skirt or mixes it up by pairing argyle prints with nautical styles. Targeting boys and girls ages 3 months to 12 years old, this youthful collection offers a wide selection of preppy pieces that allow children to express their individual style.
