Kia Motors global sales for passenger cars, recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles increased 2.7% to 653,361 units in the first quarter of 2013, compared to corresponding period last year.
In March 2013, sales in China increased 19.6% to 48,364units and Europe sales increased by 6.6% to 57,651 units.
The company has also experienced the highest cumulative increase to date in 2013 in China to 23.9% with 144,559 units sold, followed by Europe and General Markets with 5.5% at 135,571 units sold and 1.8% with 123,898 units sold respectively.
Kia posted the C-segment Cerato sales of 32,799 units for March 2013, the B-segment Rio and Sorento mid-size CUV follow with 44,371 and 17,402 units sold, respectively.
The company said that the Sportage compact CUV sales were 32,966 units for the month, while the D-segment Optima sedan reported sales of 23,981 units.
