Spa is rolling LED lighting out across 250 stores across the country.
The 250 stores are part of a major roll-out across Spa outlets in the UK by the Cross Group, specialists in refrigeration and energy efficient technologies, and food retail lighting manufacturer Nualight.
“Great Spar stores create great customer experiences,” said Joe Conway, commercial director at Cross Group Northern Ireland. “And that is why the Blaze LED upgrade programme has been so successful.”
Four Spar regional distribution centres – Henderson Group, CJ Lang & Son, Apple by Westward Group, and Blakemore Design and Shopfitting – are all participating, along with the 250 stores completed to date.
“After replacing fluorescent with Blaze,” Conway continued, “stores are visibly enhanced with brighter, fresher and more natural lighting. This highly efficient product has a distinctive design aesthetic and a unique optical design for very low glare and exceptionally uniform lighting. Moving from fluorescent to Blaze also dramatically reduces lighting lifetime costs.”
The LED upgrade is expected to save Spa 67 per cent in energy costs compared to the original fluorescent scheme, as well as last up to five times as long.
