Italy’s Zenit Group has installed a set of Uniqa pumps at a pump station in New Zealand.
The Lake Hayes subdivision in Central Otago collects raw sewage from approximately 563 homes and pumps the sewage 2.4km through a 150mm diameter mains to the Shotover treatment station.
The pump station had a dual pump set operating duty/standby. These pumps were prone to ragging and were being removed regularly for de-ragging. This involved a 15km trip to a workshop for a wet end strip and clean.
Using Zenit pump selection software, a set of Uniqa ZUGOC100F 45kW 2 pole pumps was selected to meet the required duty point.
The design of the Uniqa wet end means that any maintenance on the volute and impeller can be done on-site without the need to disconnect the pump and transport it back to a workshop.
Zenit is represented in New Zealand by White International NZ Ltd.
