Researchers, from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore claim that it takes a four mile run to burn off a bottle of fizzy drink and a 5.6-mile hike to shake off a double cheeseburger.
They feel that putting that message on a pack rather than simply printing the calorie intake would hit home harder for people.
The findings were published in the American Journal of Public Health.
