TricorBraun will commence operation in India

US-based rigid packaging company TricorBraun has commenced Indian operations with an aim to cater to the growing need for rigid packaging products in the second largest Asian market.

The company has opened TricorBraun-India in Mumbai, India. It will serve as sales office, distribution centre and global sourcing facility.

TricorBraun chief executive officer Keith Strope said: "We have experienced excellent growth in India without an in-country office. TricorBraun-India will serve as sales office, distribution center as well as a global sourcing facility."

The company is a supplier of jars, bottles and other rigid packaging components.

Some of its clients include Northwestern bottle Company, Texberry Container, Caliber packaging, W Braun Company, Packaging Plus, Packaging West, Smith Container, Cal-West Tool & Mold, Fenton, Weber & Jones, I-Pak, Ryco Packaging Corporation, Columbia Packaging, Penn Bottle and Supply Co., and Trilogy Glass and Packaging, Inc.

"TricorBraun-India also supports our commitment to meeting the rapidly growing needs of the Asian package goods market. Presently, we have Asian facilities in Beijing, Guangzhou (Canton) and Hong Kong, China," Strope said.

The company, which is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, was started in 1902 with the distribution of blow-molded glass bottles. Today, the company manufactures glass bottles, jars, plastic bottles, closures, sprayers, dispensers, tubs and pails. It operates offices in more than 40 locations globally.
