PetroChina (SHSE: 6001857) announced on September 6 that a foreign individual shareholder launched a lawsuit against PetroChina's two former and existing directors and two former and existing senior executives in violating the US securities laws to the Southern District court of New York, the US taking the opportunity when some PetroChina's former directors and senior executives are accepting investigations from the Chinese authorities.
So far, the company and other individual defendants have not yet received any formal litigation-related notification or document and it does not rule out the possibility that other similar lawsuits will be put forward in the US.
