Naturex, Australia’s major vitamin and herbal brand, has entered into a long-term preferred partnership agreement with Swisse Wellness for the supply of natural ingredients.
Under the partnership, both the companies will also work on developing innovative natural and healthy integrated solutions.
The long-term partnership will strengthen ties between two major players in the nutraceutical industry, as it combines their expertise.
Naturex chief executive officer and director Olivier Rigaud said: "This deal is aligned with our Bright2020 strategy to expand our product portfolio with innovative and substantiated products, strengthen our positioning in emerging markets and increase our global footprint."
Earlier this month, Naturex had signed a exclusive agreement with Mazza Innovation to use its patented pressurized low-polarity water (PLPW) technology to extract phytochemicals from cranberries.
Rigaud had said: "This open innovation partnership with Mazza Ltd is a great opportunity to bring the global market new natural clean-label ingredients using environmental friendly technologies.
"As one of the foremost companies in the field of natural healthcare solutions, Naturex is fully aware of the importance of supporting innovative ideas and processes from various sources. The collaboration with Mazza Ltd is one of the first steps in our recently-launched global Open Innovation program."
Naturex operates in three strategic markets such as food & beverage, nutrition & health and personal care. It produces and markets speciality plant-based ingredients for the food, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
Currently, the company has about 1,700 employees, with manufacturing operations in 15 countries.
