It’s reported that Korean steelmaker Hyundai Steel said that its output of finished flat and long products dropped by 6% from a quarter ago in the third quarter of this year, due to facility maintenance and sluggish demand in summer. In the third quarter, the company’s output of finished steel products amounted to 3.82 million tons, in comparison of 4.08 million tons in the same period of 2012. Among them, the production of steel flat products totaled 2.19 million tons, down by 3%; that of steel long products totaled 1.63 million tons, decreasing by 10%, both compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.
