The small crossover has been redesigned with a fully stocked interior that features plenty of standard and optional equipment, as well as a whole slew of safety highlights. Add to this winning combination a new trim level and a brand new turbo-charged engine and the 2015 Ford Edge is looking to be one of the breakout hits of this year.
Adding the new Titanium luxury trim to its robust line up of SE, SEL, and Sport editions, the Edge is looking to offer even more variety. With useful and possibly life saving features like a rearview camera, a standard feature across all the trims, inflatable rear safety belts, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and Ford's brand new front passenger knee airbag which deploys from the glovebox door, it might just be one of the safest SUVs on the road today. Heap on plenty of comfort features like the available panoramic sunroof, the 8-inch touchscreen featuring Sync/MyFord Touch as well as offering hands-free phone and entertainment functions and its easy to see why Ford has so much confidence in its redesigned crossover.
The upgrades continue under the hood as the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and the optional 3.5-liter V6 are joined by an engine available only on the Sports trim. A new powerful, turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 which will achieve at least 300 horsepower will also be offered, a large upgrade from the standard 2.0-liter, which still can get a respectable 245 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. All three engines will be coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission, which will be operated by a steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. And with the Edge available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive, a properly equipped model should be able to tow up to 3,500 pounds.
With all this improvements, it's hard not to get excited about it, which is why drivers are so lucky that Brandon Ford inTampa, FL will be getting the 2015 Ford Edge in soon.
