German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the production of its six wheeled G63 AMG sports utility vehicle (SUV).
The vehicle is powered by the twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8 engine that generates output of 536hp and 560lbft of torque.
Scheduled to go on sale in October 2013, the vehicle will be produced at Magna Steyr production facility in Graz, Austria and limited 20-30 units will be produced per year.
Features of the vehicle include four-seat cabin covered in plush leather, low range gearing, five differential locks and a tire-control system for the 37inch wheels.
The vehicle was first designed as a six-wheeled military version of the G320 CDI that was manufactured for the Australian army in 2011 and was powered by a Mercedes-Benz 3LV6 diesel engine.
According to the Mercedes Benz G-class development head Axel Harries, the G63 AMG will be offered at price of $457,000.
