Ballard Power Systems has entered into an equipment supply agreement with Solaris Bus and Coach to supply two zero emission fuel cell power modules, FCvelocity-HD7, for the production of buses.
FCvelocity-HD7 power modules will be used in combination with batteries as range extenders in Solaris electric bus platforms.
The delivery of the next-generation two FCvelocity-HD7s to Solaris is planned for later in 2014. The buses are for deployment in Hamburg, Germany.
Solaris Deputy CEO and CTO Dariusz Michalak said: "Ballard's fuel cell range extenders are compact, deliver the highest performance and offer great lifetime."
Ballard president and CEO John Sheridan said: "This contract is further evidence of growing interest in the deployment of zero emission fuel cell buses in Europe."
