US-based automaker Ford has registered a 6%increase in sales to 281,917 vehicles in 2012 in the UK market compared to 265,894 units sold in 2011.
The company's commercial vehicle(CV)segemnt acquired a 21.6%share of the sales,whereas medium commercials were responsible for the 30.7%of the sales in 2012 a rise from 26.8%in the previous year.
Ford Britain managing director Mark Ovenden said:"Ford beat overall market growth in 2012 and extended its sales lead in a fiercely competitive market thanks to the launches of award-winning vehicles and technologies and the unrivalled strength of our dealer network."
The Ford Fiesta lead the UK car sales in 2012,with 109,265 registrations that grew from 96,112 in 2011,while raising its market share from 5%in 2011 to 5.4%in 2012.
Models including the Ford's Ka,Focus,Kuga,Mondeo and S-MAX added to the year over year sales in the UK,while the Ford B-MAX recorded a sale of 3,199 units since its launch in October 2012.
