Webb County, Texas has announced a partnership with Enterprise Fleet Management to optimize its local fleet of around 500 light-duty vehicles to reduce costs.
Webb County is expected to save around $170,000 each year once the partnership is fully implemented.
The County's approach to fleet management had been decentralized and every department controls and manages its own fleet.
However, Enterprise will now be able to manage the routine and regular maintenance for Webb County's newly leased vehicles.
After the implementation of the program, it will also provide vehicle registration and reporting metrics to the County to ensure proper fleet optimization.
The centralized approach of reporting maintenance will allow Webb County to get insight into records, expenses, and maintenance schedules of the vehicles.
Webb County Commissioner Precinct 3 John Galo said: "Webb County has a large and aging fleet spread out across our service area, which can be a real challenge to manage efficiently.
"Partnering with Enterprise Fleet Management will let us realize significant cost savings and provide us more dependable vehicles to do work for our residents."
