British sports car manufacturer Aston Martin has unveiled the new Rapide S sports car, which is claimed to be the carmaker’s most powerful model till date.
The new four-seater saloon is powered by a new 5,935cc, AM11 6.0L V12 engine thet generates an output of 558PS at 6,750rpm and 620Nm torque at 5,000rpm.
According to the carmaker, the new model sprints from 0-60mph in 4.9sec, while achieves a top speed of 190mph.
Features of the sports car include improved dynamic stability control (DSC) to cope up with rise power and torque, while the adaptive damping system (ADS) offers three driving modes including 'Normal', 'Sport' and 'Track', which can be opted as per driver's requirements and different driving conditions.
The damper settings can be determined through an electronic control unit that receives sensor readings for the car's throttle position, brake position, steering wheel rotation and vehicle speed, and establishes the current driving conditions as well as meets the driver's demands.
Standard features include 20" alloy wheels, bluetooth, cruise control and satellite navigation.
The new sports car, which will replace the earlier Rapide in global markets, is expected to go on sale in February 2013.
