Atlas Holdings portfolio company ASG announced that it has acquired Poland-based beauty and personal care folding carton business Bydgoszcz from MeadWestvaco (MWV).
ASG intends to use the assets of Bydgoszcz operation to expand its footprint in the European consumer-packaging market.
According to Atlas, the acquisition is part of ASG's multiyear strategy in order to develop additional packaging solutions for the beauty and personal care, spirits, confectionery, and healthcare markets.
ASG Europe chief executive Tony Garnish said the acquisition will help the company to increase level of technical capability, experience, and knowledge of consumer markets.
"We look forward to cultivating new opportunities while continuing to deliver first-class solutions for our current clients," Garnish added.
Including cosmetics and beauty brands, Bydgoszcz supplies packaging to major global and regional consumer goods companies.
Existing employees, including around 320 will continue working at the Bydgoszcz facility, following the acquisition.
ASG's major packaging segments comprise health and beauty, pharmaceutical, home entertainment, consumer electronics, confectionery and specialty foods, spirits, and sporting goods.
The firm operates 18 manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, providing services for lithographic, flexographic, digital, and specialty-gravure printing and injection-molded plastics.
